02-10-26 Dora is a very worried little girl who originally came to us from a breeder. She spent around 10 months with us before being adopted, but sadly, after only a few months with her adopters, Dora has returned to Many Tears due to a change in their circumstances.

Dora is still finding the world a very overwhelming place and will need a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with very scared ex-breeding dogs. She will need lots of patience, understanding and gentle encouragement as she continues to learn that the world can be a safe place.

Dora relies heavily on other dogs for confidence and comfort, so she will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can be her friend and help show her the ropes. She would be best suited to a resident dog who is larger than her. Having already experienced living in a home, Dora has made some lovely progress, but moving to a new environment will still be a big change for her. She will need plenty of time and TLC to settle and may need some gentle reminders about her house training while she gets used to her new routine.

Dora has come a long way and will now allow you to gently stroke her, provided you take things slowly and give her the choice to approach. She is still very unsure of being handled and does not enjoy being picked up or having her harness put on or taken off, so her adopters will need to be patient and understanding of this. She is very food motivated, however, and will happily come over for some tasty paste, so this could well be the way to Dora's heart!

Once she is wearing her harness, Dora can walk nicely on a lead. She will need adopters who understand that progress for a worried little dog like Dora can take time, but with kindness, patience and the reassurance of a confident canine friend, we hope she can continue to blossom.

Dora is looking for a very special home where she can be given the time, TLC and understanding she needs. She has already shown that she is capable of making progress, and we hope that with the right family by her side, she can continue to build her confidence and enjoy all the lovely things that life has to offer.
