21-09-26 Rupert has come to us from a breeder to find his forever home. He is the sweetest boy who is understandably a little worried and overwhelmed to find himself here, but is settling in well.
He is a lovely boy but can be a little worried and overwhelmed at the moment, which is understandable. He can be spooked by loud noises and will need love and TLC as he settles into his new life. Once Rupert gets to know you he absolutely loves fuss and cuddles and we think he is going to adore being someone's special boy. He is very people focused and so can show signs of separation anxiety and become quite clingy. His adopters will need to understand this and be prepared to work with him gently, building up the time he is left alone very gradually so that he can learn that being apart from his family is nothing to worry about. For this reason he would be better suited to a multi person home rather than a one person home.
Because Rupert is so people focused, we would consider homing him as an only dog in the right circumstances, with adopters who have plenty of time to spend with him. He does love the company of other dogs though, and could happily share his home with another kind resident dog. He is also fine with cats, so could potentially live with a dog savvy cat. We would consider homing him with dog savvy teenagers aged 13+.
Rupert has never lived in a home before so his adopters will need to be kind and patient as he learns all about home life and new skills like house training. He did go home with a member of staff for a few nights and enjoyed learning about home life. He is new to walking on a lead and harness and will need plenty more practice as his confidence grows.
Rupert is such a loving and affectionate boy who is already showing us just how much he enjoys being part of a family. We hope to find him a wonderful home where he can continue to blossom, receive all the love and attention he adores, and become someone's very special boy.
