Dolly
29-08-26 Dolly's story is one that will stay with us for a very long time. She came into our care after being seized by the police for welfare reasons, arriving at Many Tears with her six precious puppies and another dog. When she arrived Dolly was heartbreakingly underweight and malnourished. Her little body had been through so much, and yet somehow, despite everything she had endured, she was still giving every last bit of herself to her puppies.
Dolly is the most wonderful girl and has shown us just how incredibly forgiving dogs can be. She hasn't let her past effect her and is the most gorgeous, affectionate and loving girl. She absolutely LOVES being around people and is happiest when she has someone to fuss over her. She will happily try to climb straight into your lap for cuddles and is the sweetest soul you could wish to meet. She is also super clever and already knows "sit", "lay down", "paw" and "spin".
Dolly has such a wonderful personality and is confident enough that she could be homed as an only dog, provided her adopters are around for most of the day and have plenty of time to give her the companionship, attention and love she deserves. She does get along with other dogs, but we feel she would prefer to be an only dog. We would consider homing her with dog savvy children 9+.
Dolly has lived in a home before, although we cannot be certain if she is house trained or not, so her adopters will need to be kind and patient while she settles in. She can already walk on a lead and will enjoy going for adventures with her new family. She can pull on the lead, so her adopters will need to work on this with her.
Dolly was named after Dolly Parton, and just like her namesake, she really does have a heart as big as her personality! She deserves a family who will adore her, spoil her rotten and show her that her life from now on will be filled with nothing but kindness and love. She has already shown us that she can forgive the past. Now we need someone to give her the future she has always deserved.
Dolly arrived with a large fatty lump on her shoulder, which has been removed at the time of her spay.
