  • Human family requirements

I will need an adult only home, that will let me settle in at my own pace.

  • Other pet requirements

I will need a kind resident dog to take me under their wing. I have never met cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I can be a little nervous, and will need a secure garden to learn about the outdoors.

  • Out and about requirements

I have never been on walks, but may be too scared and will need some time.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I have been spayed & am ready for my forever home!

Sixpence is a nervous girl who has come to us from a breeder. She isn’t brave enough to approach you just yet, but she is easy to handle once she is in your arms. We have now learnt that she is trying so hard to be brave and, although she is still quite nervous, we are seeing little bits of her cheeky Daxi personality coming through every day.

Sixpence seems to have had very little positive touch or affection before coming to us. She has recently moved in to foster and is happy to take treats from her foster parents but is not quite sure about being stroked yet. She will allow them to put her harness on as long as she is in a quiet corner and things are taken slowly. You can tell she isn't entirely comfortable, but she trusts us enough to allow it and is always very happy to enjoy a little cheese reward afterwards! With continued positive reinforcement, we are confident that this will improve as Sixpence learns that good things can come from new experiences.

Sixpence relies heavily on other dogs and really enjoys being around her resident dog friends. She watches what they do and follows their lead for confidence, and she has even learnt from them how to use the dog steps to get onto the sofa and watch the world go by from the front window! She will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home that she can lean on as she continues to find her confidence and learn about home life.

Penny is also discovering all sorts of things that she enjoys. She loves sunbathing, having the freedom to explore a secure dog field, stuffed teddies and, of course, cheese! She has a crate set up with a fluffy bed where she can go when she wants some quiet time to herself, and she seems to really enjoy having this safe space available to her.

Sixpence will need a calm and quiet home with adopters who have breed experience and understand that she will need plenty of time, patience and encouragement as she settles in. Her ideal home would have one or more small, friendly dog companions who can help her feel secure. We feel that children would be too overwhelming for Penny, so she will need an adult-only home.

Penny has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be kind and patient as she continues to learn about home life, including house training. She will also need to continue her harness and lead training at her own pace, as these are still very new experiences for her.

Sixpence is a very sweet little girl who is trying her very best to be brave. She has already made some lovely progress in the short time she has been with us, and we can't wait to see just how much more of her personality comes out as her confidence grows. She just needs someone willing to give her the time, space and love she needs to discover how wonderful her new life can be.
