Amethyst is a sweet girl who has come to us from a breeder. When she first arrived, she was a little skittish and unsure of the world around her, but she soon started to settle in and learned how lovely having a little fuss can be.

Amethyst has recently moved to a wonderful foster home, where she has been an absolute delight and is getting to experience living in a home for the first time. She has quickly settled into home life and is not fazed by normal household activities. She sleeps peacefully through the night in the kitchen with two other dogs and is happy to be left while her foster family goes out. She is mostly clean in the house, although she can still have the occasional accident at night.

Amethyst is becoming much more confident with people and is now very happy to be handled, actively seeking out strokes and cuddles.

She absolutely loves being around other dogs and will happily share beds with them and will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend.

Amethyst is starting to learn about wearing a harness and now gets very excited when the leads come out and patiently waits for her harness to be put on, she isn't yet going for walks but has started to take a few steps around the garden.

As Amethyst has never lived in a home before, it's been wonderful to see how well she has settled into her foster home. She is still discovering all the little things that come with home life and is taking everything at her own pace. She has not shown any interest in toys so far and is yet to meet cats or many new people.

Amethyst is a gentle, sweet girl who has come such a long way since arriving at Many Tears. She will need a quiet home with kind, patient adopters who understand ex-breeding dogs and are happy to let her continue building her confidence at her own pace. We would consider homing her with gentle, dog savvy teenagers 13+. She will also need friendly resident dog or dogs to give her the reassurance and companionship she clearly enjoys.

She really is a sweetheart, and we hope her time in foster will help her continue to blossom into the confident little dog we know she can be.

Our vet has noticed some opaqueness in both of her eyes and feels that she may be in the early stages of developing cataracts. This will need to be monitored in her new home for any future treatment she may need.

She has a travel document.

Amethyst has been given the Gift of Life by Scott Ferguson
